SolarSails, a clean energy technology company, today announced its flagship product: an intelligent solar charging system designed specifically for electric vehicles. SolarSails announced the completion of its first fully functional prototype. The engineering team successfully validated all core systems including automatic deployment, intelligent sun tracking, and DC direct charging. The prototype completed over 500 deploy-fold cycles during testing, confirming the mechanical reliability of the system. Module conversion efficiency reached 25.6% using TOPCon N-type solar cells, exceeding initial performance targets.
SolarSails unveiled its product roadmap for 2026, outlining key milestones from prototype validation through Kickstarter launch. The roadmap includes three phases: Engineering Validation (Q1-Q2), Manufacturing Preparation (Q3), and Public Launch (Q4). The company also announced plans for OEM partnerships and fleet operator programs in 2027.
SolarSails officially confirmed plans to launch its Kickstarter campaign in Q4 2026. Early-bird backers will receive significant discounts on the retail price. The campaign will feature multiple pledge tiers, including a limited Founder's Edition with exclusive features. Waitlist members will receive priority access and early notification before the public launch.
